About Masjid Nomaan

Fox Valley Muslim Community Center - Serving our community since 1995

Our Story
Founded in Memory of Nomaan Abbas Khawaja

The Fox Valley Muslim Community Center was established in 1995 by the family of Dr. Abbas Khawaja in memory of their son, Nomaan Abbas Khawaja. Nomaan expressed his desire to build a Masjid for the Muslim community of Aurora, IL to his mother during the 1987 Hajj. He passed away at the young age of 16 while attending Hajj.

In fulfilling his vision, the Khawaja family established this community center as a lasting tribute to Nomaan's dedication to serving the Muslim community and his deep faith in Islam.
